Led by Dende Nation founder Mac, our samba reggae drumming classes take place throughout the year, with additional classes in the run up to Notting Hill Carnival. Our classes are a welcoming, supportive and friendly environment. All levels including beginners are welcome - and drums are provided.

Intructions for entry:
- Use the entrance on the main road
- Press the bottom buzzer ‘Tuition'
- Go straight through the set of doors, down the stairs, and our rehearsal room is on the right.
The cost for the 3 hour class is £15, or £60 a month.
Notting Hill Carnival Additional Classes
In the run up to Notting Hill carnival, we will be offering additional classes:
Vauxhall: Thursdays 7-9pm from 20th June - 22nd August 2026 - Beginners / new joiners for Notting Hill
Kingston: Wednesdays 7-9pm from 1st July - 19th August - Searchlight Community Centre - Kingston Mead, New Malden KT3 3RK
The cost for the 2 hour classes on Wed/Thurs is £10.

You can pay as you go for classes, however we encourage our members to pay monthly:
- £60 per month (for 4-5 classes).
This gives you a discounted rate, plus discounts on additional workshops - and supports the group.
The cost for pay-as-you-go is:
- £15 for the 3 hour sessions on a Tuesday (main class and improvers)
- £10 for the 2 hour sessions on a Thursday (beginners / new joiners for Notting Hill)

MASTERCLASSES WITH MARIVALDO PAIM
Mestre Marivaldo Paim ( from the first Bloco-Afro Ilê Aiyê ) is one of the creators behind some of the most recognised rhythms & breaks within the Samba Afro & Samba Reggae movement. His work has shaped generations of musicians & continues to influence the global Samba Reggae community.
Marivaldo will once again be collaborating with Dende Nation for our Ijo Idilé project - this year in collaboration with @reggaechoir, offering a rare opportunity for Samba Reggae groups across England to access deep, embodied knowledge at source level, without the need to travel to Brazil.
Led Marivaldo Paim and dancer, choreographer and cultural producer Mariana Pinho, these special masterclasses held in London, Birmingham and Cornwall are open to people of all backgrounds, ages and experience levels, and form part of a wider programme taking place across London, Birmingham, Cornwall, Brighton and Hastings, leading towards Dendê Nation's participation in Notting Hill Carnival 2026.
